If anyone has a video that clearly depicts the correct process for taking down a convertible top on this type of Auburn, please send it to me on tape or DVD.
I will convert it to RealVideo and put it on this website.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a video is worth a whole lot more!

There is a couple of pages in the technical bullitins that were supplied to the dealers by Auburn that outlined the process of lowering the phaeton top. Give me a call 715-262-3183 , I'll fax it to you.

Put the top down very carefully as these are 2 or 3 man tops. Many parts can be broken or bent if not done properly. If it is a nice top, my advise is to not risk putting it down. They're for looks mostly.

ITS WAY TO COMPLICATED TO DESCRIBE, AND IS NOT COVERED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. MAY BE IN SERVICE BULLETINS? JUST DON'T TRY IT WITH LESS THAN THREE PEOPLE, ONE ON EACH SIDE AND ONE IN THE BACK SEAT, YOU ARE VIRTUALLY CERTAIN TO TEAR TOP IF YOU TRY WITH LESS.
GOOD LUCK

I've just gotten a '35 phaeton, which represents my first foray into classic 4-door convertibles. One look at the top mechanism tells me that I don't yet know enough to put the top down without doing interesting things to the car. Can anyone take me on a step-by-step on lowering and raising the top?
