Sorry, Stand corrected. The Unified Thread Standard was adopted in 1948. United States Standard thread (USS thread) is looking like the likely form used.......

Thanks for your reply Mike,

I'm actually chasing the correct thread form. Not sure if it would be "Unified Thread, Standard (UTS)", Coarse (UNC), Fine (UNF), Extra Fine (UNEF) or Unified Special (UNS). I know that United States Standard thread (USS thread) was introduced in 1948. In Australia we mostly use Britsish thread forms so I need some help.......

The correct thread size for what Andrew? I'm sure there are many thread sizes used.

Hi there,

Some debate has started here at home with the correct thread size the factory used in my 1927 Auburn 666.

Can anyone shed light on the correct thread size for my car?
