There is no secret. It does not come off the car that easy. The procedure is to take the four screw from the top of the windshield. 2 on each side of the top rail, then remove the knurled knob from one side and with a rubber mallot tap the frame away from the glass. it should slide sideways and apart. You may want to have a second person holding the windshield. Because at this point it could fall apart. Putting it back together is the reverse procedure
My 2 cents

I need to have glass put in the frame of my 36 Auburn 852 Cabriolet windshield and want to take the frame off the car to take to a glass shop. How do I get it off? Each side has a chrome knob that loosens to allow you to lower the windshield. If I take either or both knobs off the studs that they screw on to will not move...if even just one came out I could easily take the frame off and take to the glass shop. What is the secret? Thanks, Mike
