My apologies all..I managed to uncover the engine properly, take a real good look and it is a 4 cylinder!!!. I think I was confused with the valve springs and not being able to see the rest of the engine. Now I have a spare for my 4-44.

Bruce: My info only lists the CF engine as a four cylinder used in 1925-26 Auburn, 4-44 and the 1924-25 Elcar, 4-40. I have no listing of a CF six cylinder engine. There is a GF engine which is an eight cylinder.

Hi Bruce,
Can't help I'm afraid. Missed you at the Jamestown Rally. Glad your making headway on your Auburn. Kind Regards Andrew

Does anyone know if Lycoming manufactured a 6 cylinder engine designated CF??
I have a 4 cylinder engine CF 26107 and a 6 cylinder engine CF 24689.
My data shows that Auburn and Elcar received only 4 cylinder engines designated CF.
Any ideas would be most readily accepted.
