Bumpers that are VERY similar to Auburn are 1935 36 Hudson and possibly Terraplane. A square hole in the center and two bolt holes on each end are the easy way to spot them. I have also noticed that the eight cylinder bumper on my 850Y is slightly higher and thicker than the bumpers on my 851's and 852's This becomes noticible when installing bumper guards.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

The narrower bumper is probably from a six cylinder car.

My 35 speedster has a 4 1/4" wide bumper with a 5" dip in the center.
(Front bumper). Maybe your narrower bumper is from a different make, possibly Ford?

Is there a difference of the front bumper dip between the 3.5 and 4" bumpers.
I have measured two different bumpers in the center and the 3 1/5" bumper had a dip of about 2 inches and the 4" bumper had a dip of about 4.5". Is this normal for the two of them or were they all the same. Can someone straighten me out on this ! It is puzzling to me which one is right or wrong.
