Searching for line of ownership of 1935 Auburn 851 was created by jerryrogerson
I found a rusted 1935 Auburn 851 on a farm near Williamston, North Carolina and restored it with parts from all over the country. I found the previous owner and obtained a registration that shows the vehicle ID Number to be CC-3521.
The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum indicated that all factory records (built sheets and destinations) were destroyed back in the 1930s. They advised me to contact the ACD Club for some suggestions on tracing the ownership back to the original purchaser. The Museum also stated that the ID Number that I supplied is not the serial number, but the engine number and it should start with the prefix "GG", not "CC".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
