Hi Hollis:
It is great you are finally getting around to working on the old girl. I would try a few drops of well placed mureatic acid to dissolve the lime and crud that is stuck to the capsule. You will find that once the capsule is extracted, and you put a screw driver in the hole and break the crud away that it is open to the water chamber inside the head. Hollis, give me a call, I had that problem on my 34 phaeton.

851 Temp. Sender Question was created by Hollis
I'm starting to do some motor work on my 851. The car has set for a number of years. I was successful in removing the head, however, the temp sender is seized in place within the head. I was able to remove the nut that holds the sender in place, but the tube is stuck in the bushing. I've been using penetrating oil for a couple of weeks, but no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Hollis
