Hi Joel,
Pete Kelly is correct; the air cleaner that you have on your car is not correct. The correct air cleaner runs parallel with the top of the engine and looks similar to the air cleaner that is on a 810/12 standard engine Cord. The dia. of the assy. is smaller then that of the Cord. I am sorry that I don't have a picture of mine but there is an 8-105 on ebay for sale. I can't remember if there is a picture of the engine compartment or not but you might want to take a look at it.

Joel,
You can make what you have into a creditable air cleaner by finding a element that will fit where the screens are now. The dia. is probably 6". If so you will need a filter about 2.75" high to flow enough air for your motor. If you want the proof I have the math formula I will gladly send. It is from K&M. You will probably have to call the filter Man. tech line to find one. The last numbers I have are Puralator 1-800-526-4250 and Baldwin 1-800-822-5394.
CORDially Mike

Joel,
You need to put some copper Brillo pads, or something like that, between the two wire rings shown in the top of your air cleaner housing. The pad material is cleaned when it get dirty, then sprayed with oil and
put back in the housing. Not a very good filter but that is how it works.

33 Auburn air cleaner question was created by Joel
My 33 has what I thought was an air cleaner. But when I decided it was time to change the oil in it, I found out that it is not an air cleaner. The tube goes straight thru from the carb to the top.
What is this, a silencer? I need to figure out some way to filter the air.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of unit, or any suggestions?
Thanks, Joel
