lubricant level in 2 speed read end?

Yes, that is the filler plug. It seems to be low on the unit, but the ring gear picks up the lubricant and slings it around inside the housing.

On a 33 Auburn 2 speed rear end, is the small plug on the back cover, well below the axle centerline, the level indicator plug?
