So how many were made? Is there not a specific known number? From what I can tell if you add up 1928 and 1929 boat-tail Auburn Speedsters you get well over 2000. Is this as close as we come to the exact number of 1928 Auburn Speedsters made? Charles

THE UNIT NUMBER IS STAMPED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRAME RAIL JUST BEHIND THE REAR PORTION OF FRONT WHEEL. AS THESE ARE LIGHT STAMPINGS, THE NUMBER MAY BE HIDDEN BY PAINT. IN SUCH CASES, IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO REMOVE THE PAINT.

A fellow in my hometown has just bought a 1928 Auburn Boat-tail Speedster. How many of these cars were made for the year 1928? Where do you find on the car the serial number? Thanks.
