Thanks, I have the part out to be rercast without screw holes and adapted reproductions to get me through till then. No clue why I have the problem, but 1/32 inch between door and post is a little tight for my liking.

I have made several parts by hand in this way. It takes much time but when parts are not available you do what you have too.

Hi John
Perhaps you could grind out a pair from a solid block of brass, steel or whatever easier and faster than finding something to modify.

Could you put a thicker rubber pad between the b pillar and the bracket?

John, I think it will be easier to modify the 'B' piller than the bracket.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Does anyone have a set of reproduction door post center mount castings (Brass, Bronze, or Stainless)- I have a 1936 car that for whatever reason is inconsistant with 1935's with allowing use of an original part or a reproduction part (mounting bolt spacing is very different) and need to go back to basics with drilling holes or soldering holes in reproduction and redrilling (ie. both the original and the reproduction mounting brackets cause the reproduction and also original door posts to drag on the top of the doors). I have an upholstery date and not looking good as to time enough to have the part recast.
