Try calling Jay Lawson at 269-217-2604. He has a Auburn block, but he is unsure what year it is.

Valve seat though. Can't imagine JB weld holding up to compression heat.

I was able to repair a Model T block with JB Weld a number of years ago. Still works fine. The key is to blast the area first and grind the crack a little before applying.

C&P Machine does Lock Stitch work on a regular basis, so I assume it was not feasible. Maybe it's not recommended at a valve seat. I have successfully welded a number of Cord blocks. My son Joe has over 5000 miles on his Westchester with large cast iron panels on each side, just like Josh Malks car done by Bill Bicknell.

I would reccomend looking at a Cold Metal Repair--Metal Stitch Repair
In my business of repairing Old Cast Iron Reciprocating Compressors up to 1000 hp we were never able to weld old cast Iron -- Just did a Repair on a high pressure 750 psi by the Lock Stich method

I know a lot of old blocks that have been scraped because of poor casting from the 30s

Cracked in valve seat going down cylinder wall. Take it to c and p machine to get it looked at and was told to try to find a block. To me doesn’t look that bad can’t see the crack showed up on magna flux. Thanks

Where is the crack and how bad is it?
It could possibly be welded.
Contact Bill Bicknell in Missouri, he had broken panels in Moonshadow's engine repaired by welding in new cast iron panels.
