I add 4-10 books to my library every year. I like just finding this info by accident, It makes me feel like finding the car in the barn (like my Jordan). I am getting into airplanes now. The only thing motorized I have not touched. I don't want anything to do with boats.
You've fallen victim to the Holy Trinity...cars planes and motorcycles. My own fetish is cars, boats and motorcycles. I make it a point not to go around vintage planes. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Kind of makes you wonder - what are Mr. Roe, Al, Fred and Augie discussing up there in the big car lot in the sky? Are all of our questions being answered?

DUESENBERG / The Pursuit of Perfection , Dalton Watson Ltd. publisher,
1st Edition 1982, Chapter Four "Engines for Land, Sea and Air 1912-19"
where at Page 36 the author states:
"The first known application of Duesenberg engines in aircraft came
in 1915. Edson F. Gallaudet, an aiplane experimenter based in Connec-
ticut and Rhode Island, used two 5" X 7" four-cylinder engines, adapta-
tions of the walking-beam racing engine design but larger, within the
fuselage of his seaplane design. Both engines drove a single pusher
propeller. The airplane flew but orders never materialized."
We shall all continue to miss the company, acuity and scholarship
of Fred Roe but the above referenced work will continue to serve as a
prime resourse on Duesenberg information for decades to come.
Sincerely, Jonathan Richards at Red Oak, Iowa .
