Odd combination of businesses but I'll more than happy to test their product this summer!

While you're there, you can possibly or at least make an appointment to get a hair cut. They also own Satisfaction Hair Salon (use to be next to the Evening Star Office) but that was moved inside the home as well.

I think I ate at that Fazoli's last time...

Again, it has been way, way too long.

Anyway, here's best of luck to the Auburn House's latest incarnation.

Yes, there is a Starbucks. West end, next to KFC (former home of Fazoli's, Rax, and a few others....)
There must be at least 5 or 6 independent coffee shops in Auburn now too.

The "Auburn House" is being opened by a guy who has a restaurant in Butler, IN. That one has mostly breakfast foods (pancakes, etc.), but also has a full lunch/dinner menu with sandwiches, etc. Their Butler hours are 6am-8pm daily.

They are currently working at "remodeling" the interior. Not sure what it's gonna look like, but, most of the automobile items have been sold off.

Two years has been much too long...I can't wait to get back to Auburn this summer. It's probably the only place other than my hometown where I really do feel at home.

[i:5j4yer02]Something I didn't have a chance to check last time:[/i:5j4yer02]

Is there a Starbucks locally? Or another place that serves up yuppie high-test caffeine? I prefer local coffeehouses (supporting local business is always a good thing).

Wish them good luck. If they make thru until Labor Day 2009, we'll try them.

The food was never as good somehow the last few years. If I was to guess I'd say all the problems began with the move (nineties?) to the location on SR8. In the old place, at least on Labor Day Weekend, it always seemed liked they needed more space, but I suspect that wasn't the case the rest of the year. We usually eat at the Town Tavern a couple of times during the weekend, good honest food that you can enjoy with a "beverage".

I always heard that breakfast was their best meal anyway.

I've always wanted to eat there, if only for the atmosphere. It was closed during my last visit.
