All the guys on this forum and nobody else posted this? Am I the only lazy guy here?
That's a good idea, if you don't mind your car getting soaked that long. Since I have just one daily-driver, which gets run through salt, rain, snow, ice, mud, etc., I'd probably try it if I had a sprinkler (I don't).
And since it was mentioned and this is my forte: I never let pots sit overnight in the sink. Pour in water to cover the crud inside, bring it to a hard boil, and everything should dissolve off into the water. Works especially well if you've made hard candy or anything syrupy.

We used the dryer sheets. As Bill said, they worked great. Thanks, Michael!
Yes, I can vouch for the dryer sheets as well and I think everyone in Auburn now knows the secret thanks to telling my mom, who told everyone in the area....

Just tried it. Greasy, slimey, nasty, but it does work and it is fast. You will have to use a Car Wash wipe or something to get the milky residue off. But the bugs are gone and it was very easy.

The bugs don't get onh the L-29 because they haven't figured out how to get in the trailer.

For now, every time we wash the car, we nail a swarm on the way home. Two more weeks or so.

Wal-Mart sells a cleaner/degreaser that works pretty well on bugs. It comes in a purple one gallon container, can't remember the brand name.
I spray it on full strength to get the bugs off my truck.
I also have had pretty good luck using a solution of kerosene and a little water.
I've also seen bug and tar removers on the shelf at the local auto parts store.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST IS TO USE FABRIC SOFTENER SHEETS FOR YOUR DRYER, GOT THIS TIP FROM A PRO DETAILER, AND IT WORKS LIKE MAGIC, JUST WET ONE AND USE IT TO TAKE OFF THE BUGS, DOESN'T HARM PAINT( IV'E USED IT ON ALL TYPES OF PAINT), IT LEAVES A RESIDUE , BUT YOU HAVE TO WASH THE CAR ANYWAY.
TRY IT YOU'LL LOVE HOW EASY THE BUGS COME OFF.

We've scrubbed, washed, powerwashed, and tried Coca-Cola and canned lemonade. Nothing's completely worked yet (although the Coke worked OK). Any old-fashioned remedies or (reasonably priced) commercial products out there anyone can recommend?
I imagine this info would be useful to folks driving classics, as well...
