Hi Bill,
I would like to see it run as well. Lets review its history.
It was built in 1936. It sat.
Someone bought it in 1937 and exported it. It ran on some cobblestone roads and broke, no parts, the big war, it sat.
The sixties came it was cobbled together best as possible and sat.
It was brought back to the USA in the eighties where it sat & sat some more.
Dummy Rabid Cord fanatic balin' purchases and tries to resurrect. It almost breaks him, it sits.
As far as I can see I am carrying on a family tradition. It sits.
Someday there will be glory, till then,

Or see your car running!

One nice thing about the storm was that the temperatures dropped down into the 70's and I was ready to push the old girl out of the barn and pull the drive and engine, remove fenders, unhook wiring and weld up the crack and put the old heap back together.
Oh-well, two days later the humidity returned as well as all the months bills and it will have to wait.
Speaking of waiting, I can go to the Natural History museum and see Lucy's 3 million year old bones. I hope I don't have to wait that long to see your collection on display. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

When the mess started they diverted us out over the gulf and we came in from the south. About the time we started our final approach the storm centered over Bush, and was moving north. After we aborted and were circling Houston the storm the storm was moving NE. We turned around and started another approach, and the storm made a U-turn, back to the airport. The pilot said we didn't have enough fuel to do that all day, but we did have enough to go to New Orleans and get some more. The New Orleans airport was full of planes that had been diverted from Houston. The pilot probably landed, but half the passengers would have soiled themselves.

Of course I could see out my window that we were being pushed sideways by the wind, right off the runway. We circled Houston a couple of times and went to New Orleans to re-fuel and wait for the storm to move out of Houston, or at least clear of the airport.

Here is a picture of the storm looking east from I-10+45 when 2:30 PM looked like midnite--and you were in the air!

No, it was that Rollston LWB Formal Sedan. It is sort of a pewter, with grey interior.

As I said, I got there Friday, and went straight to the auction. I bought three cars, including one Duesenberg, and tried to check out the swap meet Saturday. Not much luck. I kept almost getting run over by folks leaving.

I had stuff to do Sunday, and Monday morning I departed.

I got on a Turbo-prop belonging to Tree Top Airlines, and flew from Hershey, Pa to Charlotte, NC. From Charlotte I had non-stop first class passage to Houston. We got to within 200 feet of the ground in Houston, (I could see the individual blades of grass) when the pilot aborted the landing. Of course I could see out my window that we were being pushed sideways by the wind, right off the runway. We circled Houston a couple of times and went to New Orleans to re-fuel and wait for the storm to move out of Houston, or at least clear of the airport.

My three PM homecoming turned out to be an eleven PM homecoming.

Hershey was created by mikespeed35
I want to invite everyone who is going to Hershey to stop in at the new ACD Club booth RSA 40-41. It is being handled by Bill Thrush and friends.
Also you might stop and see Joan and I at GBG 21-23 for a sit and a soda.
