Hello, Jay,

I was blown away by this photograph. As the others have mentioned, this is a special sports car built specifically for Edsel Ford. It was designed by his chief designer, E. T. "Bob" Gregorie in 1934. The two men to the left are unknown to me. (Neither one is Edsel.) The lady on the far right is Edsel's wife, Eleanor. The other woman is unknown to me. I can't tell from the photo if there are one or two people sitting in the car. I suspect one of them is Edsel, but I can't tell. The photo was taken at Edsel's Grosse Pointe mansion. I wrote a complete history of this car in my book "Edsel Ford & E. T. Gregorie." I spoke personally with Bob Gregorie about the creation of this car. I would like to get a high resolution copy of this photograph. Can you help me with this? With a clear copy, I will be able to determine if Edsel is in the car or not. Please contact me. My email is: <a href="mailto:]

The caption refers to "Bob." The Speedster built for Henry Ford was designed by Bob Gregorie--is he the man in the picture? (Not behind the wheel--maybe in the pedal car?)

The Speedster still exists and is in Bill Warner's collection in Florida. Great-looking car. I don't have contact information for Mr. Warner but he's known as an approachable, friendly guy, hopefully someone else can help you out. Best of luck.

Can't make out the driver of the car, but it's probably Edsel Ford, I'm next to positive car is his custom built ford speedster from around 34 or 35, if memory serves me. The Ford v/8 emblem on the top of grill is tip off.

hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jay and I'm in the U.K. I work in the motor garage on this side of the pond, we specialise in American cars new and old, on the odd occasion we see some great old American classic cars, in fact, at the moment a friend if mine is working on a customers Cord 812.

anyway back to my post, I was shown this picture in the hopes that I'd know what the car was, (not the peddle car... lol) and I have no idea, although I'm sure I've seen pictures of it's kind before,
so I was wondering if any of you folks have any ideas, I know it may not be Auburn, Cord or Duesenberg, but I'm sure your the best people to ask,

many thanks in advance,

cheers, Jay.
