I saw a classified ad on another webiste, offering for sale a gorgeous, high-grade German shotgun from E.L. Cord's personal collection. I thought this might be of interest to Forum visitors, as it gives a little insight into E.L.'s interests and the lifestyle of a Sporting Gentleman of his generation.
The pictures show a classic pre-war, high-art engraved German 16-gauge side-by-side, in immaculate condition. The rather cryptic inscription on the top of the gun barrels translates into English as "Royal Bavarian Gun Factory - Carl Stiegele Jr. - Munich" (which was well-known gun making firm during the 19th and early 20th centuries).
