I just spent a good amount of time on the site and will spend many more I am sure. It was very interesting to see that according to the Zahn list of Owners in 1968 J558 which is now a
Murphy J Dual Cowl Phaeton was actually a Murphy Convertible coupe. Which would mean that Chris was right in saying the car was rebodied in the early 70's. Unbelievable that so random a piece of history can confirm what was only conjecture. Very impressive.

Jack:
I spent some time tonight viewing your great new Duesenberg website.
I see your late father had a copy of a letter that was sent by Ray Wolff on 9/9/1958 to my great uncle William "Wild Bill" Hunter then living in Calif...
That letter surprised me !
It would appear that most all these early Duesenberg collectors knew each other in the very early days of collecting.
Re: Your restoration of your late Father's Model "J"186 ~
I think your Father would be very pleased to see the great restoration work you have done on his great old car~
It's a shame he is not here with you today to finally see this long term restoration project becomming complete~
I am sure he is looking down at you & "J"186 with a big smile on his face !
Great Website~

New Duesenberg Website was created by jrcurtright
I would like to announce that after nearly two years of work, I've finished a new website to replace the Duesenberg content on curtright.us.
The new website has much more material on it, including some of my Dad's correspondence regarding his Duesenbergs, and pictures taken at ACD meets.
The new Duesenberg Model J gallery is sorted by chassis number instead of engine number, and probably has errors just as the old one did. If errors are reported to me, I will correct them.
Enjoy!
