There is a reprint of a contemporary (1920s) article on the Model A by a respected automobile writer in issue 2010-1 of the ACD Newsletter. It includes the speeds the factory tested each car at. Due out in a couple of weeks.

In 1925 the Duesenberg that won the Indy 500 averaged 101 mph for the race. First car to ever average over 100 mph for that length of time. It was an all out race car. Most likely a typo

131 MPH Duesy Model A??? was created by Joel
Greetings,

On page 91 of Fred Roes Duesenberg book, it claims that a Model A Phaeton covered 3155 miles in 24 hours at Indy in April of 1923. According to my math, that would be an average of 131 MPH. This does not seem possible to me.
Is this a typo? Or is it true? Thanks, Joel
