Thanks, Randy, I knew you would have the answer.
Interesting car. It has about as few Marmon clues as it did Duesenberg. The roofline DOES look uncannily like a Murphy Convertible Sedan. I wonder if that was Bohman & Schwartz's intention.

I agree with you, Mike. Don't repeat what we're saying, I'd hate for him to get wind of it and get all cocky.

Chris, I have a couple of copies of Roe's book. I'll give you one for Christmas if you want it.

Thanks. I'm still lacking a copy of Roe, not having a first-born child to trade for it, and it's been a while since I've flipped through a copy.
I thought the window frames and roofline looked like one of the two Murphy Sport Sedans (neither of which has a Bohman & Schwartz modification in their history).

The car is pictured on page 177 of Fred Roe's book (same photo), the caption reads: "Totally disguised, with no Duesenberg features apparent, but still considered to be a Duesenberg chassis under the Bohman and Schwartz body. Some feel it may have been restyled from a Murphy convertible sedan".
Not much help, I'm afraid.

A Duesenberg I've never seen before was created by Chris Summers
I spent this week helping an author friend research at the National Automotive History Collection of the Detroit Public Library. While there, I took a peek at their Duesenberg files and came away with a disc full of photos.
Most were new shots of cars I'd seen before, but this Bohman & Schwartz-restyled J is new to me. Any ideas?
(Photo from the NAHC. The lousy scanning job is also theirs...)
