J Winterfront Shutters

I was under the impression that it wasn't purely cosmetic. The louvers came with a change from the Winchester honeycomb vee'd radiator to a flat style, which required the louvers to cool properly. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm not mistaken, it was not just a grille change. Isn't the hood different as well? Longer, or shorter???
