I've used the Pertronix for some time and it performs as advertised, once installed you don't bother with it any more like with the points. The only problem is that it needs a minimum of 5.3 volts or so to work, so when cranking the engine with a not-so-good battery, if the voltage drops below that value, it does not create a good spark. I use the Optima 6v battery that I keep on a cherger-maintainer and it really helps with that issue. I've also installed it in other classics with 6, 12 even 24 volts and I'm quite happy with it.

Hi Gary,

The only posts that I see among several forums about electronic ignition conversions are seeking help to make the cars run. Cause and effect...?

I see an electronic ignition made for our Cord. Its made by Pertronix. Has anyone tried this? If so what can you tell me about how it works compared to the points set up we have now.
