Thats a great idea for holding the trans steady on my bench. I may try this idea. Thanks for the suggestion too.

I have found using 1/2" threaded pipe nipples in the drain holes of the tranny and differential works nicely. Us a close nipple (short) in the differential hole and one about 3-1/2" long in the tranny hole, then screw on 1/2" pipe threaded flanges attached to about 10" long 2x4 blocks. I used an engine hoist to lift tranny onto the workbench, two strong men could do that job too. If you turn the blocks lenghtwise, the tranny can be tipped onto its side, or upside down if needed.

I was a nice looking trans mounting device that fits into an ordinary engine stand. I liked what I saw and want to build one. Does anyone have the demensions or is it just make what works for you. Thanks all.
