If I had taken a spare starter, Joan wouldn't have been able to bring any underwear.

Thanks for the thoughtful tip of carrying a spare like this. I usually carry spare parts in my F350. Being stuck on the roadside some Dark Sunday night after at 9pm is not a place I want to be. I like your idea of a complete bendix too Mike but a complete spare starter is even better. REally not going to carry a starter but its an idea if I was to be driving to Auburn from Ca.

I have broken a bendix drive spring in my Cord twice. Once I drove home from Auburn without shutting off the car because I was too lazy to change it on the road and the other time we were in CA. and I replaced the spring in the Hotel parking lot. I always carry a spare spring in both my Auburn and Cord. In fact now I carry a complete bendix drive because it is easier to change the whole bendix than just the spring. Smart purchase.

I was watching this but missd out bidding on it. Kind of forgot about it. So I contacted the seller and asked if I could purchase it as shown. For the price I felt I could do no wrong. So I finally purchased it after plenty of pm messages back and forth.
Do I really need it??/ Nope but I sure wanted it. As far as I know my starter bendix spring is over 70 years old and who knows how many times it has been used to engage the starter drive and pull it back out of the flywheel. so for $12.50 and free shipping i feel I did ok. Others opinions may differ and they are welcomed too.
