We have converted many generators to 12 volt. All that is required usually is a set of field coils to replace your originals.

Hi,

You can search the ACD forums for GenerNator for information and experiences.

12 volt conversion of original generator? was created by rallyemidland
Hi. My 36 810 (# 2593A) was converted to 12 volts before I bought it. I planned to go back to 6 volts, since I have never had any real issue with the 6 volt cars in my collection and I drive them long distances. I, however, have changed my mind and will keep the 12 volts. The question is,,,,, I have an original generator in good condition and I have seen ads for converting them to 12 volts and keep the original look. Are these conversions reliable? Has anyone had experience with these conversions?
Thanks. Dale
