Yesterday I went to Santa Barbara Ca to pick up 42 pieces I had Ca plated at Joes Plating on State Street. The finish is very good. I'm impressed with the quality of the work. The price of $200.00 seems a little steep but the quality is more than enough to make up for the price.
Since then I have called around after a web search. I found a place in Pacomia Ca called Burbank Plating. For a min fee of $200.00 they will plate 60 to 70 lbs of parts... So I plan to make up 70 lbs and see what thier quality of plating is like. I realy don't think I have 60 or 70 lbs of parts left that needs to be plated. So I will probably remove as many nuts, bolts and washers as I can. I'm not sure what a Cad plated bolt does to judging standards but we will ask later. I am sure there is some ideas of what owners like and what is deemd a deduction in the judging arena.
