Last night I was working on installing a new exhaust system on a S/C Cord phaeton. I was not able to install the muffler and rear pipes due to an interference of a lowered section of the floor under the rear seat. It appears this car had the area under the rear seat cutout and an open top steel box added to lower the floor about 7". Has anyone seen anything like this? Please view pictures via the link below. It looks like I can unbolt this and fabricate and install a new section under the rear seat.
