Sorry. The Cord described was Clark Gable's. However, I believe Howard Hughes also had one.

Yes. The Cord is documented and is in the Vincent private car collection in Los Angles, CA. I recall tan or very very light brown exterior and red interior. I believe the Cord has been shown at the Monetrey Concours d'elgance, Carmel, CA some years back.

I recall being told that one of FDR's 4 sons had a Cord at U Va. I have not been able to verify this, not even that any of them went to U Va, but then it could have been a case of just hanging out there.

My 1748 S Beverly was owned by a Mr Hamlin who was the Tucker president for many years and owned several Tuckers at one time so I have been told. He owned my car from March 28, 1949 to January 17,1950 and at that time it was sold to Donald E. Finnicum on January 17 1950 who owned it till January 1961 when my father bought it from him for $300.00. It came with 2 complete engines and front drive axles. Reason for selling to my father was his wife said it goes or she goes.. Wow what a choice. If that happened to me I sure would miss my wife... I'm just kidding but its a tuff choice to be made to accept. Sadly a fire took every spare part but the block and a spare EE15 carb. Mr Hamlin passed on in the late 1960s or early 1970s. History is always interesting to me. I got the information about Mr Hamlin from the Tucker historian a few years ago. I went to see the Tucker he was restoring for a client. Nice guy and a wonderful looking car.

In Patrick Dennis's "Little Me," The fictional character "Belle Poitrine" had a "Cord Roadster" that was wrecked by her boy-toy Letch Feely.
