1937 Generator

What is the correct generator for my 1937 Cord sedan serial number 1748S. The Autolite generattor in my car has a serial number of 1T 1290 and the model number is GCJ-4-807A-s. It is a 3 brush 30 amp unit. Or does it really matter what unit I have in this car. Mine has the seperate voltage regulator. I see some generators with the regulator on top of them. I think those are called a shunt voltage regulator type setup.
