Some of the very early transmissions had the numbers stamped on the side of the trans. look on the side below where you would expect to see the number and about the middle of the gearbox (i.e. a little in front of the oil fill plug). Let me know if you find anything.

I'm helping new Club member Les Gerber disassemble his 37 S/C Beverly. No serial numbers were found stamped on the transmission case. Yes, the cover is off. Has anyone else found a tranny with no stamped serial numbers?
