Parts list was created by T_Hussey
The parts list is a great reference for restoration of our Cords. I find it interesting that a ?Talking Code? is used. That description refers to a part number scheme where the numbers describe the part to someone familiar with the system. For example...

Heavy lock washers begin with WB.
The next digit is size in 1/16ths.
The suffix is the plating option.

From this WB7E6 is a 7/16 S.A.E. heavy lock washer, WB8 is a 1/2 S.A.E heavy lock washer. What I don?t yet know is the definition of the various plating options (E6 in the first example, the second is un-plated).

I bring this up because there is that there is a lot of good information for restorers in the parts list if we understand the code. Knowing the meaning of the suffix will give us the correct plating for each fastener. Does anyone know what the suffix codes E6 and F6 are?

Is there a published explanation of the numbering system around anywhere? I would appreciate a copy if it exists. Otherwise I will generate an explanation as best I can. By publishing this, the plating for each fastener will be known, documented by the parts list. Perhaps it could be published in the ?Restoration Manuals? section of the forum.
