1937 Air Filter

My 1937 beverly sedan has a serial number of 1748 S. I have the small air filter found on page 58 of the book... The Cord Front Drive published by Floyd Clymer in 1957. Is that the correct air filter for my car or do I need the lager air filter that mounts to the carb and is supported off the exhaust manifold. I know there are actually two differant filters like that too. Thanks for any information on this..
