AA25 Carburator

I am looking at what needs to be done on a Cord 812 Phaeton of a friend of mine, which had originally a FB engine installed, but has a FC engine installed since the end 40 to 50's (mod done in Switzerland at that time). Among other things I noted that the carburetor AA-25 is turned around 180 degrees vs a normal installation (i.e the acceleration pump is looking fwd).

Has anybody any experience, if this matters. The engine runs, but the response and sound etc. is not exactly to what I am used to (from my S/C Cord). Soi I am looking what the reasons for this behaviour could be (the carburetor installation is one of the things which are different from my car, which was restored by Henry Portz).
