Dennis, If the machine shop installed the bronze shoulder bushings per the
instructions one would believe they certainly should have noted any problem with the housing!
Did you have the seal surfaces lapped per the instructions? Did you provide
the proper squeeze load on the seals per the instructions? If the front seal
was not installed properly that certainly could cause your problem.
Sorry you are having a problem. Henry

Water Pump problem was created by Dennis Jolicoeur
I just rebuilt my water pump in my 1936 Westchester for the second time in 3,700 miles. This time I purchased parts from Henry Potz including the bronze bushing that I had a machine shop machine and install in the castings. The pump already had a stainless steel shaft and bronze impeller. I assembled the pump per Henry?s instructions and everything seemed good. I installed the pump in the car today and when I started filling the radiator with anti-freeze and water to my dismay the water/anti-freeze started pouring out the front weep hole in the pump. I started the car hoping that by some sheer miracle the pump would stop leaking. Is there a possibility that there is a problem with the casting? Help!
