Dennis, what does "went" mean? Leaking? Bearings? Noise?

Dennis,
I have 30 to 40 thousand miles on my water pump without a problem. If it's rebuilt right, with the modern bearings and seals the water pump will last for as long as you drive the car.

I have more miles than that on mine and no trouble. I got the items to rebuild my pumps from Henry Portz including his new improved impeller. Henry rebuilds them too, so if you don't want to do so contact him.

My water pump just went again on my 1936 Westchester. I rebuilt it in 2010, but since then I have traveled 3,746 miles. Is this uncommon?
