Hi Charles,
I am not sure if your car is supercharged or not. I have data for both AA-25 and EE-15 if it will help you.
You probably do need a choke of some sort to richen the mixture when the engine is cold. I can be workable without but often more cranking is needed, pumping the accelerator to richen the mix also. This is not the best.
The auto choke is built into a small housing at beside the top housing. The choke shaft runs into it. No parts are easy to get, but this might not be too bad. The housing looks to be the same on any number of Stromberg carbs in the 40s.
Cheers,

My car does not have the Automatic choke. Are they available? Do I need it if I am not having it judged?
