Hi Rick
I looked and have 2 regulators but both are different from the 1 you are looking for and do not have interchangeable parts with yours. It might be easier and for sure quicker to make 1 by hand using a hacksaw, a file and a drill.
You might ask ACD Co in Broken Arrow OK an they had some but don't know for what models of Auburn or Cord.
Good luck
Pete

Guys here in Australia have had good results with high pressure water jet cutting things like clutch plates for vintage motorcycles. Small sheet metal gears should not be a problem. The jet follows a programmed drawing.

Hi Again
Have removed the regulator from my 1931 8 98 A Phaeton and pic is attached along with a close up of the problem cog where I think the slip has been happening .
Fortunately I can turn the cog over and play with the alignment and probably get by . At worst could get it remade. The tiny primary gear which is operated by the handle spindle is also a bit marginal but should still do the job.
If anyone has a good condition regulator then I would still be keen to obtain one and ship it to NZ where I live down under .

But Jim there are a number of parts common to both Auburns and Cords.
Rear spring shackles and door lock striker plates are just two examples that I am aware of.

Thank you Pete for super fast reply !!!! I will open up the door tomorrow as it makes sense to either find a regulator or fix the missing teeth as that is what I think is my problem . I am an Auburn newbie down here in NZ and have recently taken over Curt Cutuis' 8 98 and am in the process of fixing little things that will make my compliance journey more straight forward.

Rick, Ask over in the Auburn section - the guys over there can help you out. I don't know much about the Auburn parts...but I'm learning fast!

HI RKF, I think I have them, I'll check tomorrow. Are you going to be in Auburn in a couple of weeks? If so I can bring them.
Jim
