I just bought new correct radiator hoses for our 31 8-98 and as I recall in some messages I saw where the lower hose should have a spring in it to prevent it from collapsing.

Does anyone know of a sources for the spring?

Curt,
Go to your local hardware store and buy a large rotating sprinkler head, I buy the Hunter brand and take it apart, there is a nice stainless steel spring that can be stretched to fit your lower hose.
