Having had an unrestored 1929 8-90 Cabriolet in the garage years ago the exterior brightwork was Chrome finish
And, the interior trim looked probably bright nickle which faded to a dull nickle. Top irons were chrome though.

The chrome bath is the last step in the chroming process. If you want it nickeled, just have them stop after the next to last step, which is nickel.

Hopefully the plater will know the difference when I have the parts re-plated.

I checked the Master Parts Book. In 1928 it lists the ealier bumper being Nickel Plated and in later 1928 Chrome. Based on that info I assume the transition from Nickel to Chrome was in 1928. 1929 should be chrome unless left over 1928 parts were used.

I believe this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find the thread. When did the Auburns switch from nickel to chrome plated parts? (headlights, hinges, handles, etc) I have a '29.
