its a henney hearse! as in henney made there own hearse as well and called it.....henney hearse!
and a henny hearse is a rebadged auburn/duesenberg hence almost all the parts are auburn/duesenberg parts!

Appears to be an Elcar model 120 7 passenger sedan. Elcar is only automobile to use Lycoming GR engines, starting in July 1930.

Google it, look at original brochures, dash/steering wheel, etc. is same. Also, Auburn of this vintage would have over hood belt line on cowl... which is missing.

These pictures are neat and sad at the same time.I amazes me how well some things stand up to the elements.
I am also curious as to what the car looked like 20 years ago when it was "not for sale" as the guy was going to 'restore' it

Looking at the carcass, there are definitely some Auburn parts - Bijur lubricator, possibly front fenders, & ignition wire enclosure.

Hi,

Google "Cord hearse" and you'l find a link to images that include Auburn chassis hearses.

Craig. I suspect that you have a Henny hearse with a Lycoming engine in it. Randy

My guess is that it may a 1928/1929 Auburn. From the pictures, I am not sure it is a hearse. It could be the remains of a Sedan or Brougham body. There is a 1935/6 Black Auburn Hearse on the main floor of the ACD Museum (saw it last weekend). Take a close up of the data tag on the engine and post the picture for us to look at and we will be able to give you more information.
