and that eliminates the problem

The mechanic working on my 1931 898-A has a problem with the radiator fan assembly. Apparently there is an oil reservoir that has three grooves in the back part. He wonders what type of device is supposed to fit into the assembly to prevent the oil from escaping. The way he describes it there is a specific part, not a gasket that is required. Can anyone shed some light on this question ? Thanks, MA
