Thanks Steve,
My cabriolet is 12" from the ground to the bottom of the running boards. I have 6.5 x 17 tires. I'll bring a tape measure to the West Coast Meet next month.

If your car is a sedan, brougham, or coupe, you should have a maximum roof height, from the floor, of about 68" with 7.00 x 17 size tires. You will have less with 6.50 x 17 size tires. As long as your car is 68" or less high, there is nothing wrong with the suspension. I don't know the proper height for the convertible sedan, cabriolet, or speedster.

Chief: A picture of your car from the side could be helpful.

I'm a newbie learning about my car. I have a couple of questions I couldn't find answers for.

I've notice my car appears to sit higher then most other cars I see. I know tires can make a big difference in stance but my car seems too high compared to others. I measured from the top of the front axle to the rubber bumper and got 4". From the top of the front axle to the frame was 6.5". From the top of the rear axle to the rubber bumper was 3.5". From the top of the rear axle to the frame was 5 3/4". Does anyone know what is considered normal?

Another question is, what is the purpose of the knee spring on the drivers side front spring? Why is it only on one side?

Thanks for any help.
