Removal of Auburn Speedster Steering Wheel? was created by Bobavet
Dear ACD Members,
I recently purchased a 1936 852 Speedster. It's a Glenn Pray "Second Generation" Speedster, but it has many original Auburn parts and components, including the steering wheel and steering-ignition key lock. This steering-ignition key lock has recently jammed and I've removed the steering mount which includes the steering-ignition key lock and slid it up the steering column to the point where I need to remove the steering wheel to slide it up and off the shaft.
While the steering wheel and column are original, the car does not have the Dual Ratio tran-saxle so I assume that the associated linkages would not be in the steering column.
I see no visible nuts or bolts, so something will need to be removed to allow access to the steering wheel mount bolt.
Help?
