Well, I went ahead and ordered the Ron Francis switch from Summit racing. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for the replies!

I also ordered 6 volt LED dual filament bulbs. 1 red for the right hand light that has a clear lense. The switch has a 5 amp limit, and the led bulbs have very low amp draw.

The problem with LED is they won't work with turn signals unless you make modifications I have been told. Don't have personal experience.

Mike, this car doesn't have turn signals, so not an issue. But I do have led bulbs in my hot rod. They don't draw enough current to operate the bimetallic thermal switch in a mechanical flasher. But they make a solid state flasher that works. That car is 12 volt. I'm not sure if that flasher would work in a 6 volt car.

Your right on that Mike. I suppose blinkers will go onto the to-do list.
