Thanks Jim, it was quite a challenge. I hope to get the actual compass mechanism working one day ................. that is more of a challenge.

The Cord accessory Jones Compass is a rare sight as not many were sold. I have been told about six are known within the ACD Club consequently there is not much hope of finding one. With some pictures of an original compass and help from Stan Gilliland I was able to make a reasonable replica. Recently Pete Kelly provided pictures showing the even rarer illuminated model. So I figured what the heck, I may as well up date mine .
Not many Cord owners would have ever seen one of these Jones Compasses up close and especially at night.
The light is very soft and should not distract the driver. In the original intallation literature it says to connect the compass light to the headlight switch. I think a separate switch is more desirable.
