Awe.... when you're in town, I was going to suggest that I take your picture in front of the Tasco. :( Because it's one of my FAVORITE caorses. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

I'm surprised he WANTED anybody to remember his creation of the T-top...if memory serves me right the first thing he used it on was the Tasco, which he once referred to as his own personal Edsel.

I have to agree with him--I saw it at the ACD Museum in 2003 and, well, if it was the 1800s and that thing was a horse, I'd shoot it!

Well, he then worked for Ford for years after that, so maybe Ford should have had the rights to the T-tops?

By the way, we're all glad he quit GM in 33! I would hate to be showing off a Chevy instead of a Cord!

[i:10tebq18]Well, there's a little GM in there ....[/i:10tebq18]

Buehrig quit GM in 1933. He patented the T-top in 1951. Do the math. :D

Wasn't Buehrig working for GM at the time? If so, then the rights to the product should have belonged to GM.

Buehrig patents &quot;T-top&quot; was created by Josh Malks
On this date in 1951 Gordon M. Buehrig was issued a United States patent for his ?vehicle top with removable panels?. This idea appeared on the 1968 Chevrolet Corvette as the "T-top". Buehrig claimed that GM paid him a small amount for it, after his lawyer complained about the patent violation.
