politics : believing or showing an unreasonable belief that your own country or race is the best or most important:
wonder how anyone outside the USA got that idea.
judge for yourself.

I, like many of you, am in receipt of an email from candidate Jack Berk asking that anyone who hadn't already cast their vote give him consideration. Fair enough. However, I don't think the way to go about requesting a vote is to insult not only American club members, but Americans in general.

Mr. Berk took the time to include this paragraph in his request for votes:

"I have not a good idea how many of the members actually vote, and knowing that Americans are chauvinists (nothing wrong with that), I realize I will have to drum up some extra support to get elected. That is of course why I am writing to you."

In summary: If you weren't considering voting for Mr. Berk, you're probably a chauvinist.

It's really poor form on behalf of a candidate to have written that.
