Been a change since my 1st post to this topic in 2006. The Yamaha was replaced by a Road King a few years back. The '32 Auburn and the '63 F100 still share one garage, the other one houses the daily drivers and Jane's Miata. Had some British stuff in the past, both cars & bikes.

Me thinks Michael Smith has the diversification. But whatever anyone has is very cool. Its great to see that so many club members have other toys other than their ACD cars.
And yes, it seems a great deal of us love "Lucas" prince of darkness.

My Auburn 852 Phaeton has a TVR Tasmin parked next to it and a 1941 Cadillac in front of it. My parent's Auburn 851 Phaeton has a 1964 (1963 by production) Austin Healey BJ7 MKII in Colorado Red that is one of the few AH cars that is unrestored and a Club Gold level winner parked next to it.

Seems like there haven't been any posts lately, but here goes anyway:

Next to my 812 SC Westchester is my 1954 Austin Healey BN-1. A nostalgic look back to the first sports car I rode in during the summer of 1955 at age 10.

Behind it is a 1997 Ducati Monster, a daily driver that recently blurted all of its fork and rear shock fluid onto the floor.

Above it (yes, above it) are the beginning pieces of a reproduction of the 1970 Yamaha 125cc twin road racer that I rode to a third place at Daytona in 1971.

Muscle Car Drags. www.fastraces.org Behind to the right is a 67 Plymouth Sattelite Convert project car that will eventually be cloned into a Hemi GTX. Behind to the left is an original 67 GTX Hemi 4 speed genuine 30,000 mile car. Directly to the left is a restored '49 Plymouth convert.

Nice shot, Kevin! I hope the Meteor didn't blacken the Cord's fender when you fired it up.

Anyhow, my 35 Duesenberg SSJ is parked between my 1934 Bugatti Type 59 and 1995 McLaren F1 GTR. Unfortunately, all three are 1/18th scale. Tis' the life of a 22 year old college grad lusting after a car as old as his grandparents. One day I'll get myself an ACD car. One day.

Way to go Mike, what a wonderful collection, I wish I had your cars, and you had even better.....

My little red Cord 812, is parked next to a very nicely restored 55 T-bird, with 44,444.8 original miles showing on the odometer. Really!!! Had I been paying attention I would have trailered it the last 4 tenths.

The 851 Speedster is in pieces at my restoration shop, so it sits next to allot of cars. One is my first car, a 29 Chevy I bought when I was 14, my second car, a 29 Model A bought at 15. It also gets to sit next to a J Duesenberg and related parts we are restoring, and a really trick 48 Chevrolet COE custom crewcab truck. We even have a 37 IHC truck it sits next to from time to time.

I know past parking is not allowed, but the Cord did get to sit next to Ab Jenkins Mormon Meteor a couple of years ago. Keep up the great work providing good homes for these great cars...

Mike,

Not only is the six a wonderful driving car, but I think the lines on the 34 are better with the shorter hood. My 36 Cord drives very well too, so much so it feels like a modern car. Now my 37 Zephyr purrs like a kitten, but the mechanical brakes make it a scary car at times. In the old Lincoln's defense, it rides very well and the styling, for a sedan, is very nice. It has great lines

Spent many years starving to death as a writer and living on my wife's teaching salary. Debts are all paid back, the royalties are solid now, so starting to build a bit of a life and tasting a few dreams. The Auburn and Cord are dreams. Always wanted ACD cars, always admired them, but spent many years playing with 20s, 30s, and 50s Fords until I could afford to get into the ACD game (even had a 17 T). Now the only old Ford I own is my 65 Fastback, which I will keep.

Finally, so sorry to read about your wife. I have been married 30 years and can't not imagine life without Kathy.

SO COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS, AND LAUGH BEHIND THEIR BACKS WHEN ANYBODY SAY'S "BUT ITS NOT A FULL CLASSIC", BECAUSE AN AUBURN SIX IS ONE OF THE MOST UNDERATED CARS IN THE WORLD IN MY SOMETIMES NOT SO HUMMBLE OPINION.

Can you share with us what the GT40 drives like? I sat in one, but have never ridden in one of them, much less driven one. Love you cars, makes my stable look pretty shabby.

I ALWAYS WANTED A WORLD CLASS SUPERCAR, BUT WAS AFRAID I'D END UP PUTTING SOME GUY NAMED QIUDO'S CHILDREN THROUGH COLLEGE JUST TO KEEP IT RUNNING(UNLIKE A CORD, WHICH AFTER 20 YEARS OF CUSSING AND MAKING REALLY STUPID MISTAKES I CAN NOW SAY I UNDERSTAND ENOUGH TO REALLY SCREW UP AT A MOMENTS NOTICE).

THE GT HAS THE SAME MODULAR 5.7 BLOCK IN IT I HAD IN MY LIGHTNING PICKUP TRUCK WITH MONSTER HEADS AND A BIGGER BOWER, IT PUTS OUT 550HP.

THE CLUTCH IS LIGHT AND IT DRIVES LIKE A KITTEN, UNTIL YOU PUT YOUR FOOT IN IT, THEN THINGS HAPPEN IN A BIG FREAKING HURRY.
ITS LIKE FLIPPING AN ELECTRIC SWITCH FOR ROCKET BOOSTERS.

IT HAS HUGE BREMBO DISCS THAT STOP IT LIKE TROWING OUT THE QUEEN MARYS ANCHOR, AND HANDLES LIKE A GO CART ON MASSIVE STEROIDS.

THE ONLY MINUS IS THAT IF YOU WERE HEAVY, OR OVER SAY 6'2" YOU'D PROBABLY BE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. ALSO THE DARN THING WAS SO EXPENSIVE, THAT I DON'T DRIVE NEAR AS MUCH AS I'D LIKE TO, BECAUSE I'M PRAYING THAT EVENTUALLY THEY COME BACK UP IN PRICE TO WHERE I DON'T FEEL LIKE A COMPLETE FOOL FOR BUYING IT ORIGINALLY.

ALL IN ALL, IF I EVER HAD TO GIVE UP SEX(GOD FORBID) IT WOULD BE AN ACCEPTABLE REPLACEMENT.

Centered in my 8 car garage is my 1931 Murphy bodied convertible coupe with diappearing top and factory original (rebuilt) supercharged Duesenberg SJ345. On it's left is the 1929 Springfield Rolls Royce Brewster convertible coupe. Left and back is a 1958 Corvette convertible coupe. Immediately back is a 1931 Auburn four door Sedan with all weather top. Back and right is a 1933 Auburn boat tail Speedster. Back and right is a 1933 Auburn four door convertible sedan. Immediately on it's right is a 1931 Cadillac convertible coupe similar to the car that served as pace car for the Indy 500 that year.

I'm playing with Photoshop to make a panoramic view of all soon.

AND NEXT TO THAT IS A 1978 MERCEDES ROADSTER THAT'S A PRO STREET CAR(ZZ4 CHEVY 350 360 HP TUBBED WITH 19 INCH WIDE TIRES UNDER THE REAR, BU IT LOOKS TOTALLY STOCK UNLESS YOU SEE IT FROM THE REAR)

Whats that MB like to drive in traffic? Is it as nice as it sounds, are there any under hood pics? wow, very nice, and S.A.E. Quarter mile time? A really insane sleeper.

By the way my 812 Westy is sharing its room with my beloved original 1939 GM Carry-All Suburban. The body sort of looks like the Cord limo, Beauty and the Beast.

The Carry-All towers over the roof line of the sedan for height comparison, 77in. vs. 62in. for the Cord and they both wear 6.50x16 tires.

There is a big 1953 Panhead Harley Copsicle to keep order. A 1941 Ford tractor with brushhog is outdoors with mountian of who knows what else.

Most important is the 1940's jukebox and electric icebox for the beverages. No wonder nothing gets done around here anymore!

NEXT TO THE CORD SC CABRIOLET THE THE CUSTOM SC BEVERLY IS ON ONE SIDE, AND A 1960 MERCEDES 300 ADDENAUR SEDAN THE OTHER, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CUSTOM IS MY MID LIFE CRISIS CAR, A 2005 FORD GT (I JOKE , BUT ACTUALLY MY WIFE LOST HER BATTLE WITH BREAST CANCER AT THE AGE OF 49 A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO,AND SINCE THEN I DECIDED IF I WANTED SOMETHING, AND IT HURT NO ONE, I WAS DAMN WELL GOING TO DO WHATEVER I WANTED TO CAUSE LIFE IS JUST TO PRECIOUS TO WASTE. Next to Auburn Sedan is a large shelf full of different-color leftover shingles :(

There is a BMW X5 SUV parked next to my Cord .... Not mine though!

It's my brother Peter's since I park the Cord over at his house. Hey! It was your rules ...

Poll to see what's parked next to your ACD car. If the Peerless or Phantom III's parked 2 cars away: doesn't count. You can only count the Crosley, Morris or Bolens parked right there. If you have items on either side, above, kittycorner or below, it counts; (multiple floor garage?)

Rules:
1) No shuffling cars before voting
2) Any ACD vehicle 1900-1937
3) Ag equipment, two wheelers, aircraft, snowmobiles, boats, ex or active military vehicles, automobilia or what have you are all applicable
4) Most incredible will be required to submit pic at conclusion of poll
5) Vehicles parked in restoration shops must obtain photo release from business and car owners before submitting pic.
6) ACD cars in pieces: Body, Chassis or Engine OK (counts as one if numbers-matching); Misc. parts not applicable
7) Currently owned ACD cars only; (No historical recollections) unless fantastic and verifiable
