I'm with Randy. Harry Pulfer made many, many repro coachbuilders' emblems years ago and they are still floating around, backside of this one resembles ones I've seen from Harry. (his were excellent repros, by the way, often hard to tell from originals)

There are two AB sites, you might find your answer there.

I do not recall what the backsides of my body plates looked like for the 1939 LaSalle, though they were German Silver and I hand polished them (I do know reproductions have been made over time). Pretty sure someone has redrilled yours to large diameter hardware.

Randy,
Thank you for your time in helping me sort this out. Last question. What about the tag tells you that it’s a reproduction? The fasteners could have been swapped out for any number of reasons over the past 80 + years.
Thanks again, Greg

I’ve messaged the owner to see if he can get a photo of the back of the tag. Does someone in the club have access to these records?

Randy,
It has a tag, (see photo), and a hand written note that comes with the history of the car, not pictured. Just wondering if you have the records in the club’s possession that could help me verify this. In the note it states, “rumored to have been re-bodied in the 1930’s for the Russian-American movie star Mischa Auer.” If you can help, that would be great.

I do not know why if something looks a little different, they blame Bohman&Schwartz

Bohman & Schwartz records was created by Felix31
I’m looking at an Austin from the late 20’s, rumored to have been re-bodied in the 30’s by the coach builders Bohman & Schwartz. My understanding is that many ACD vehicles were treated to this same service by the “Hollywood Elites”, and that this group is in possession of many of these records. All I have to go on is a hand written note that states, rumored to have been…. Any help in my search would be greatly appreciated, or if someone could steer me in the right direction.
Thank you, Greg
